Cytheras Trio 11x14 (SGL-11w)

Latin America, 11" x 14"

The Clearwing butterflies hail from an otherwise dull family of small butterflies called "browns."

They are utterly unique creatures as their wings are almost entirely transparent except for the marked veins and a light flush of color on the hindwings.

The shadow that is cast by the veins and markings of the wings is visible through the translucent scales resulting in an unusually three-dimensional effect on a white background.
