The Morpho sulkowski is unique among butterflies in that it doesn't really claim a color: at least not one that's fixed. Depending on the angle from which they are viewed, the wings reflect pearl, lavender, sky blue, white, opal or seem semi-transparent.

As the Morpho sulkowski flies at a higher altitude than other Morpho species, perhaps its proximity to the heavens is the secret to its
luminescence.
