As a species, Megasoma acteon is one of the bulkiest of all beetles. Its uniquely leathery carapace combined with its oddly armored morphology makes it a handsome beetle indeed, but until I was able to obtain a small number of nearly record breaking specimens, it did not make the cut.

It is now available in very limited numbers at such a monstrous size as to make it an essential acquisition for the true connoisseur.
