The delicate Ricepaper Butterfly is aptly named.

Its long slender body lacks the strength to power its over-sized wings in more than a sporadic, lilting flight. It therefore is more of a glider then a flier.

Its spotted, semi-translucent wings are fairly effective camouflage in the Malaysian jungles and since it is poisonous to most predators, it enjoys strong numbers in its native habitat.
